Distant Sun Podcast

Because I received friendly feedback regarding my last video podcast over on Posithink, I've decided to do another one here. I don't really think the content belongs on Posithink, although I'll cross-post it anyways.

I've always liked this song by Crowded House, as well as the majority of their work.

A note about the music podcasts though - I'm only doing them in one take, and not really warming up or practicing beforehand, so the 'talent switch' isn't really turned up all the way. You can see from this one that I'm not even dressed yet and kicking around the house in my robe. Also, the recording quality isn't the same as the Coldplay one as I had the DV cam from work that time. This one was recorded on my webcam, using Windows Movie Maker, before converting it to MP4 and then running it one more time through iMovie to get the file size down.

Erk - gives me a headache just thinking about it! Also, in the background, you can spot the Space Invaders scarf that Alison is currently working on.

Enjoy.

Oh yes, as previously stated, this is a tribute, please don't bring the litigation.

I enjoyed the recent Posithink show... congrats to you both on your successes - I think you accomplished more last year than most of us. I like the uplifting music idea - my own choices are mostly old jazz tracks like Corner Pocket by Count Basie, Sunny Side of the Street by Nat King Cole, Take the A Train by Duke Ellington, Sing Sing Sing by Benny Goodman, Sweet Lorraine & Oh Look at me Now by Frank Sinatra. My final suggestion is Bourbon Street Parade by Preservation Hall Jazz band.

Also, can you please post an audio version like you did last time? I haven't found an MP4 player that works with Windows ME. Yeah, I know, we have a pathetic computer. Looking forward to hearing this though, and I hope it becomes a regular thing this year.

Good choices all - they used the Benny Goodman track last year for a Guinness campaign, so it gained in popularity for a spell. Always been a fan of big band myself.

I'm hesitant to post an audio only again, as it messes up the way some podcast aggregators grab the enclosures. Will iTunes not work on Windows ME? Because Quicktime 7 is now included with it.

Also, I've tested VLC player (which is free) and it'll play an MP4. You can download it from http://www.videolan.org.
